Chi Chat Box : Why need a new word for mixed race child ?

 

 

There was a discussion online about the creation of new word for mixed race children.

This group is called Chindian. 

It is strange, isn't it ?

Are they going to show that they are special or something different?

It is said that it was originated in Singapore. How true it is, leave your comment in the blog.

In fact, if it were a fraternity society, it would be following the father DNA. If it were the maternity society, it would be following the mother DNA.

This group of people, Chindian, is the mixed of Chinese and Indian parents. It is not known whether it would be Indian father and Chinese mother, what it would be named, perhaps, the famous politician in Singapore, Vivian Balakrishnan could give you an answer or how he uses to call himself beside Singaporean.

Of course, it depends on the economy situation. If it were in a place where Chinese community has better economy situation, even though the father is an Indian, mother is a Chinese, the family would prefer to use the mother community, the good example is the Hannah Yeoh, the Malaysia politician.

She married an Indian but as Malaysia system, the race is a must to be put in the birth certificate. She registered her children as Chinese but not her husband DNA, Indian. Helen Ang has this to say in her blog.

 I have something to add to your observation above. Like you, I don’t buy her cheap excuse that it was the poor counter clerk at the NRD who did it.

 Of course, if a Chinese man married a Malay woman, their offspring, according to the fraternity customer, they should be called Chinese. It is not that case, whether a Chinese man or Indian man married a Malay woman, their children are Malays. 

This is how the Malay population is springing up fast after the ex-prime minister altered the constitution regarding the race. It is very much by religion based but not DNA.

Now, which is the best way to indicate yourself, to use the fraternity or maternity,solve all the problem.
